Addressing the media at the Police headquarters, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana assured that in addition to students sitting the GCE Advance Level examination all staff attached to examination centres could use their official identity cards for travel during curfew.

The A/L examination continues till Nov 6.

The Board of Investment (BoI) spokesperson said that in spite of the curfew, factories located within the Gampaha district, would continue operations. “The functions of the companies in Katunayaka, Biyagama, Wathupitiwala, Malwatta and Mirigama Export processing zones are expected to continue production while strictly adhering to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. In addition to the above zones the BOI registered factories located outside the zones too will function accordingly. The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka is in the process of issuing the required curfew passes as per the instructions on the BOI website.
