Akshaya Patra Reprasantative meets Moragoda
Tejus S, Head of the government affairs and Public Policy of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, met with Sri Lanka High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda in New Delhi recently. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an NGO in India headquartered in Bengaluru. It is an organization that strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government schools and government-aided schools.
Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest Mid-Day Meal Programme serving wholesome food every school day to over two million children from 19,039 schools across 14 states and two Union territories of India.The High Commissioner and the Akshaya Patra Foundation exchanged views on the current development of the country and discussed ways and means to cooperate to facilitate a experimental Mid-Day Meal Programme serving schoolchildren in Colombo, a news release from the Ne Delhi High Commission said.
Urumayakaulpatha, founded by Milinda Moragoda, through its Purasarana programme led an initiative to provide midday meals to underprivileged senior citizens from March 1, 2019.
