AJP baffled by missing party secretary

Ape Janabala Pakshaya (AJP) would inform the Election Commission that it had nominated Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera for the national list seat allocated to the party once it traced party Secretary Ven. Vedinigama Wimalatissa Thera, who has gone missing, party member Ven. Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara thera told The Island yesterday.

Ananda Sagara Thera said Wimalatissa Thera had nominated himself for the National List seat. However, the party had not approved that move, he said.

Rumours that there was animosity between party stalwarts Gnanasara Thera and Ven. Aturaliye Rathana Thera were baseless, he claimed.
