Air Force manufactures and donates two Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units

The Air Force handed over two Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units yesterday (4) to health authorities.

Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana handed over the equipment to Regional Director of Health Services in the Central Province Dr. Nihal Weerasuriya, who represented the health authorities.

The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units were manufactured by the SLAF General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electronic design, which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana. According to Dr. Weerasuriya, the units will be deployed at the Teldeniya Base Hospital and the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19.

Director Aeronautical Engineering, Director Health Services, Acting Director General Engineering, Commanding Officer of the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake, Technical Officers of the project and a few other ranks were present.
