Advisory for Heavy Rain issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre at 10.30 a.m. 15 April 2024, valid until 10.30 a.m. 16 April 2024

Prevailing showery condition over the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces is likely to continue in the next 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Uva, province and in Matara, Hambantota, Ampara and Batticaloa districts.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
