Acceptance of LANKAQR at Expressway toll gates facilitated by RDA with NTB via FriMi

The LANKAQR – a nationwide rollout programme initiated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) – was launched on the 25th of October 2021 at the CBSL premises. The campaign aims to boost digital payments across the country and support the National Digital Roadmap.

As a key initiative of the rollout programme, the acceptance of contactless LANKAQR payments at Manual Toll Collection (MTC) gates on the expressway was facilitated by the CBSL and Nations Trust Bank through FriMi in partnership with the Road Development Authority (RDA).
