AAC issues clarification

itsThe Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) has issued a statement informing its members and the general public that it is not the organization referred to in a recent Gazette notification published by the Sports Ministry.

Text of the AAC statement: “The gazette, in Sinhala, refers to the Sri Lanka Association of Motor Sports and, in the notice published in English, states that “Suspend the registration of the Sri Lanka Automobile Association – Appointed Temporary Committee for Operational”.

“Please, note that this Gazette notification has nothing to do with the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC), which was established under the Parliament (Incorporation) Act No: 19 of 1957.

“Automobile Association of Ceylon is functioning and serving its members diligently.”
