A Space for the Joyous

Voices rise shrill,

Angry, accusatory,

In public space imperiled,

Civility getting short shrift,

But deep within the heart,

There’s a silence zone of peace,

Found in insightful thinking,

Of core values a treasury,

That for the civil is a place of meet,

Where happy give-and-take is supreme.
