A monument to commemorate those who died as a result of armed conflict, political unrest or civil disturbances in Sri Lanka

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal made by the President to build a monument as a symbol of harmony and reconciliation at a suitable place in Colombo to commemorate all the people including civilians, members of the armed forces, police and ex-combatants who died as a result of armed conflicts, political unrest or civil disturbances in Sri Lanka.
