A memoirs of a retired Senior Police Officer

Memoirs written by Dr. Kingsley Wickremasuriya, Senior Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Retd), titled “Winning the Hearts and Minds of the Community, In Search for Peace and Harmony: A challenge for the Police,’’ will be released on Friday 17th, March 2023. The book launch will take place at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, at 4.00 pm. The occasion will be graced by Prof. Gunapala Nanayakkara, Founder Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Management and Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Education, and Prof. Dhanapala Wijesighe, Head of the Department of Criminology of the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. A large gathering of Senior Police Officers, both serving, as well as retired, along with other academics and professionals, are expected to gather at this book launch.

The book is the first of its kind, written by an ex-Senior Police Officer, after years of research about the problems of policing in Sri Lanka, and how they could be resolved. It spells out a new vision for future policing in Sri Lanka. The book contains 186 pages and is priced at Rs. 600.00. It is an author publication.
