Business
A May Day Reflection
By Lynn Ockersz
Pompous Sires helming the system,
Are in this constant conspiracy,
To tempt more and more capital,
Into economies going bankrupt,
Taking you, the world’s workers,
Known by your Hammer and Sickle,
For disposable tools in this process,
But if not for the Sweat of your Brow,
And the economic surplus it yields,
There would not be food on tables,
But this truth is slow in dawning,
Because you have failed to muster,
Your strength and come together,
As a force of progressive change,
While, on the other hand,
The drivers of the neo-liberal state,
Are wielding the Mailed Fist,
To cow you into subservience,
Thereby making short work,
Of the ordinary folk’s Daily Bread.
