A/L exam put off to October

The GCE A/L examination scheduled to be held in August had been put off to October and November, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said yesterday.

Minister Premajayantha told journalists yesterday that discussions were underway with regard to this year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.

The Education Ministry hopes to cover this year’s syllabus by increasing the number of school days.

The Ministry is also trying to get donations for the printing of textbooks and purchasing uniform material for the next year.

Education Ministry also said that they had the most difficult task in conducting the GCE Ordinary Level which concluded on Wednesday, due to the shortage of human resources, public transport and materials.
