A few showers will occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Central, Uva and Eastern provinces and in Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts during the evening or night. Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the Island.
Winds will be south-westerly and speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil, and from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil, and from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar can be rough at times.
Increase of swell wave heights (about 2.0 – 2.5m) can be expected in the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
