A Face-Losing Position

True, social media must be seen via a critical lens,

Now, when even Facebook is losing some face,

But regulators itching to wield their mandarin heft,

Need to step back and ponder the following question:

The Freedom of Expression is democracy’s essence,

So, let not draconian laws be your fallback position;

Rather, help usher in the brilliant light of freedom,

And force not the people back to feudal darkness;

For the Fourth Estate, let this be a shining hour.
