99th AGM of Sri Lanka Magic Circle

The Sri Lanka Magic Circle, which was inaugurated on February 18, 1922, held its 99th AGM at its headquarters, No. 156, Templar’s Road, Mt. Lavinia, recently.

The following were unanimously elected to the 2021 Council – President: Rohan Jayasekera, Advisors: President Emeritus Kala Keerthi Lt. Col. (Rtd) Ronald de Alwis, Kala Bushana, Shelton Jayasekera and Rohith. J. Silva (Past Presidents).

Vice Presidents – H. D. N. Gunasekara, Sumittha Kuruppu, Sambuddika Ratnayake, Sumangala Silva, Niroshan Jayasekera. Hony. Secretary: Premalal Fernando and Asst. Secretary: Sambuddika Ratnayake.

Hony. Treasurer: Rohith. J. Silva, Asst. Treasurer: Bowalgaha Wickremasekera, Librarian: Elrae Pereira, Historian/Editor: H. D. N. Gunasekara.

Committee: Dimithri Fernando, Dinesh Thangavel, Vihan Perera and Asanka Pathirana.

The following were unanimously nominated – Patron: Minister of Cultural Affairs and Heritage, Mahinda Rajapaksa, Vice Patrons: State Minister of Performing Arts, Vidura Wickramanayake and Prof. Kamal Waleboda, Chairman, Central Cultural Fund Company Secretary, Corporate Affairs (Pvt) Ltd.

Auditor: Chartered Accountant, Dayananda Samarawickrema & Co. Ltd, External Accountant: Sunil Jayalath Fernando.

The members unanimously decided to form a ‘Seva Vanitha’ unit of the Sri Lanka Magic Circle with the lady members and the spouses of the male counterparts to promote the Centenary celebrations to be held on February 18, 2022 headed by Mrs. Indrani Jayasekera, wife of the President of the Magic Circle.
