50 years of hospitality

Ramada by Wyndham Colombo recently commemorated five decades of unwavering dedication to hospitality excellence recently . One of the defining landmarks of Colombo’s landscape, the Alhambra hotels as it was called earlier was the great and lasting legacy of its founder, Jabir A. Cader, a former Mayor who envisioned a hotel that would set the benchmark for Sri Lankan hospitality.

The celebration was nothing short of spectacular. One of Sri Lanka’s first luxury hospitality address, ever since it opened, the Ramada has blazed a trail of innovation and excellence that continues even today to make Colombo’s most widely known name in luxury hospitality.

From then to now, it’s been a nostalgic filled journey for all those who’ve walked though the historic corridors of the hotel, dining at one of several bespoke restaurants or stayed at the elegant property.

Over several years, it’s the been an icon of Colombo’s landscape and even today, reflects the city’s vibrant soul. To mark this occasion, the hotel hosted a grand party which brought together eminent individuals, businessmen and politicians among others. The President Ranil wickremesinghe was the chief guest.

With the spirit of celebrations still in the air, there’s no doubt that its’ a milestone year for the Ramada hotels and its legacy will continue to endure one of city’s finest hospitality.
