4000 jobs for poor youth from North and East under govt scheme, assures Minister Devananda
About 4,000 youth in the North and Eastern provinces would be given jobs under the government’s scheme to provide 100,000 jobs to youth from poor families, Minister of Fisheries, Douglas Devananda said recently in Jaffna.
The Minister said that if the people of the North and the East had sent more SLPP candidates to Parliament they would have got more jobs.
“President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has agreed to provide more jobs following this initiative. Under this scheme each government MP has the power to give about 600 jobs and there are seven MPs in the North and the East with the government.”
