23 Jaffna residents duped by swindlers promising foreign jobs

Police stations in and around Jaffna have received complaints from 23 residents who were swindled to the tune of 180 million rupees by several persons who promised them foreign jobs.

Most of the victims are middle class individuals who had sold their properties to pay the swindlers. Police say that bank accounts to which the victims transferred money have been deactivated.
