179 persons arrested for violating curfew during 24 hours

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana yesterday (2) said that 179 persons had been arrested for curfew violations during a 24 hour period that ended at 6 am yesterday (02). About 30 vehicles were taken into custody for the same offence during that period. Since the curfew was imposed on Oct 4 following the fresh outbreak of the pandemic, in various police divisions, the police have arrested 1,812 individuals and also apprehended 282 vehicles for curfew violations.
