176 Ayurveda graduates interviewed for jobs
There were 700 graduates from Ayurveda Universities, State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurveda Hospitals Development and Community Health, Sisira Jayakody said.
Jayakody said that steps were being taken to enlist them in the Department of Ayurveda.
Already 176 graduates had been interviewed and those candidates would be awarded jobs within the next two weeks.
“These 176 will be the first batch of recruits. Soon we will recruit others. There are vacancies in the department,” he said.
Late last year the Unemployed Ayurveda Graduates Union (UAMGU) said that around 674 graduates had been unemployed for over three years. UAMGU said that there were 90 hospitals and institutions under the Department of Ayurveda and that there were a large number of vacancies in those institutions.
