1500 newly developed roads to be reopened
Chief Government whip and Highways Minister Johnston Fernando yesterday said that arrangements had been made to vest with the public 1,500 newly developed roads on Saturday.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Mandaduwa Grounds in Weeraketiya with the participation of the President and the Prime Minister under the theme ‘The day of completing 1,000 projects.’
The 1,500 roads have been developed under the 100,000 road development programme as per the Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
These 1,500 roads have been developed within a period of three months.
Minister Fernando said that workers completed their work in accordance with the health guidelines despite lockdown restrictions owing to the pandemic.
