12 appointed to Parliament Committee of Selection

Twelve members have been appointed to the Committee of Selection of Parliament under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.The Committee of Selection for the first session of the ninth parliament comprises Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dinesh Gunawardena, Johnston Fernando, Douglas Devananda, Dullas Alahapperuma, Wimal Weerawansa, Prasanna Ranatunga, Lakshman Kiriella, Gayantha Karunathilake, Rauff Hakeem, Vijitha Herath, and Selvam Adaikalanathan.

The names were submitted to the House by Leader of the House Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and they were approved yesterday. (SI)
