CEB engineers warn of strike unless…

The Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers Union (CEBEU) yesterday said legal action should be taken against the perpetrators of Monday’s violence.

CEBEU Joint Secretary Dhammika Wimalaratne said that if by any chance the government tried to disregard the voice of the majority and attempted to suppress the people, who were calling for change, the CEBEU would not hesitate to strike work.

“We call upon the government not to compel us to resort such a drastic action. We call upon all political parties and law enforcement authorities to act with restraint. We call upon them to take steps to form an interim administration.
